The Cursed Literature: Essays on Taiwan Literature During the Early Period of Post-WWII (1945-1949) reengages in new textual criticism of the “early period of post-WWII” (1945-1949), this crucial period of time from the Japanese rule to the Nationalist Government and also the process of reassembling the Taiwan’s literary history. It does so through the three methods of reconstructing historical materials, textual analysis, and examining ideological trend changes. It also clarifies the unique ethnic and literary politics of Taiwan’s literary works and writers that developed during the era through the processes of cultural conflict and interrelation.
