A Korean edition of Lee Min-yung’s poetry, Confessions: 100 poems by Lee Min-yung, was published in Seoul in early April 2012. Borrowing the title of Lee's 2009 collection Confessions, this anthology contains 100 of his poems from early to recent. The translator takes responsibility for the editing and translation of this anthology. At the onset of preparations for translating a selection from Lee Min-yung's corpus of poems, the author was asked to provide his suggestions. Through several discussions over the telephone with the translator, the author in the end decided on the current selection, from all the 130 poems on his original list. This anthology starts with "Mirror" and "Well" from the author's maiden collection Clouds' Language, then follows with poems from his later collections Requiem, Wild Thoughts, Martial-law Landscape, Pouring Island, Sonata of the Heart and Confessions. It concludes with the translator's commentary, the poet's chronology, an afterword from the translator and the original texts of Lee Min-yung's poems. Starting in the 70s, Lee Min-yung's poems began to appear scattered throughout various literary magazines in Korea. This volume, by Bäum Communications, is the first official edition published in Seoul. The anthology's cover design is taken from "Life" (2002) by the Korean experienced sculptor Kim Sang IL, the translator's second eldest brother.
