Nostalgia: Tu Kuo-Ching’s 100 Poems Collection was compiled and translated into Korean by the prestigious translator Kim Sang-Ho. Kim is a well-known translator dedicated to the literary exchange between Taiwan and South Korea. Tu Kuo-Ching is also an important literary mediator between Taiwan and the US, where he was a co-founder of the journal, Taiwan Literature: English Translation Series. The title of this collection, "Nostalgia", is taken from one of Tu’s poems in Gazing at the Moon, which is also included in the book. Particularly, Tu chose to use the title "Nostalgia" to signify that he felt homesick for his homeland Taiwan. In the collection of Chinese Zodiacs, there are 12 poems depicting each of the zodiac animals. By portraying every zodiac individually, Tu expresses his critiques toward the modern society. In a separate and distinctive collection, You Are Dangerous to Me, Tu boldly writes in the context at the time to critique the society silently with great details. He hopes the contemporary writers could keep their stance firmly even when they are confronted with the unrelenting power of the government. Glimpse of China was completed when Tu traveled around China. Remarkably, he reflected on the history of China using themes of various scenic attractions with praise and sarcasm. This collection of poem is arranged in chronological order. By selecting 100 poems among all of Tu's compositions, readers are able to enjoy his philosophy in poetry.
